Recreation Services

Throughout the year, The Arc offers a variety of recreational opportunities. Every effort is made to meet the needs of our participants by offering a diverse selection of both community and facility based activities. We strive to make inclusive options available which lead our consumers to independent leisure skills development. Regularly scheduled leisure choices are offered each week throughout the year. Programs are varied and include dinners, dances, swimming, bingo, arts/crafts, special events and much more. Our Fun and Friendship Bowling League meets on Tuesday and Friday evenings. There is a summer camp offered to children beginning in July.

In addition "Arc Tracks" presents travel prospects for those who enjoy excursions to destinations such as New York City, Philadelphia, Lancaster and other destinations for shows, shopping, zoos, sporting events, amusement parks and so many other outings.

Arc Idol Talent Show at The Arc of NEPA!(115 Meadow Ave.) Whether you dance, sing, play the guitar, do magic tricks, perform impersonations or any other talent! Show us your talents either alone or as a group.
Registration will begin at 5:45pm; the contest will begin at 6:00pm . (Note time change for registration) Just bring the name of the song you want played and we will play it for you. Prizes will be awarded to the top three performers! Snacks and beverages will be served.

911 “What is your Emergency” 5:30pm (note time change) Come join us for a tour of the Lackawanna County Emergency Communication Center (ECC) 30 Valley View Business Park, Jessup PA (Take the Casey Highway Exit #3 Jessup, turn right off the ramp second building on left) It is their mission to quickly, accurately and effectively dispatch the appropriate police, fire, rescue and emergency medical services to the scene of a reported emergency. The ECC is the designated 9-1-1 Center for dispatching emergency medical services within Lackawanna County. We will see just how that happens! Snacks and beverages will be served.

Greenwood Fire Company Tour 3 727 Birney Ave #41m Moosic, PA 6:00pm Greenwood Firemen will give us a tour of their Fire House, fire trucks, equipment they use and will describe their daily duties. Snacks and beverages will be served.
